On Saturday the 31st of August, His Eminence Metropolitan Siluan visited St Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church in Wacol, Brisbane. At the conclusion of Great vespers, Metropolitan Siluan greeted the gathered faithful, delivering an instructive sermon on the importance of prayer for our Christian life and also expressing his joy for the opportunity to visit the faithful of Queensland. The Rector of the parish, the Very Reverend Djordje Petrovic, expressed his joy and gratitude on behalf of the Church community for His Eminence’s visit.
The following day, on the 1st of September 2024, His Eminence served Divine Hierarchical Liturgy at the Serbian Orthodox Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos on the Gold Coast with the concelebration of clergy and many assisting subdeacons and alter servers, with the prayerful participation of numerous faithful gathered to celebrate their Patronal Feast Day with their Archpastor.
At the liturgy His Eminence delivered an inspired sermon on the life, example and prayerful intercession we have in the person of the Holy Theotokos.
After the liturgy an agape meal was served in the church hall followed by a cultural program.
