On Thursday, 7 November 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan Siluan received Liberal candidate for the federal seat of Werriwa, Mr Sam Kayal, at his residence in Cabramatta. Mr Kayal and His Eminence had an open and frank dialogue about the many issues impacting our church and, in particular, our youth.
They also discussed family values, the importance of freedom of religion, the progress of our first Serbian school, St Sava College, and the negative impact social media is having on our young people.
It was important for Mr Kayal to hear this first hand from His Eminence and representatives of the Church’s auxiliary organisations and affiliates present at the meeting including the Circle of Serbian Sisters, Serbian Festival Sydney as well as the Serbian Council of Australia.
At the end of the meeting, His Eminence gifted Mr Kayal with a book about Kosovo and Metohija’s Imperial City of Prizren.
