On Thursday the 31st of October, on the feast day of St Luke the Apostle and St Peter of Cetinje, His Eminence Metropolitan Siluan served Divine Hierarchical Liturgy with the concelebration of clergy from the Sydney Deanery at St Luke’s Serbian Orthodox Church in Liverpool. On this day the Parish solemnly celebrated its Patronal feast day. Prior to the commencement of the Divine Hierarchical Liturgy, His Eminence Metropolitan Siluan tonsured brothers Mladen and Slaven Kokic to the office of Reader. After the prayerful procession around the church, His Eminence blessed the Slava Bread prepared in honour of the Patron saint – St Luke the Apostle and Evangelist. At the end of the Liturgy Metropolitan Siluan delivered a sermon about the importance of following Christ, of being in communion with Him. Only Christ can give us a new heart, a new beginning. He can raise us from our spiritual graves and give us the experience of life, life in abundance.
After the liturgy, a festive luncheon was served at the parish hall prepared by the tireless and ever-selfless Circle of Serbian Sisters.
