THE 70th ANNIVERSARY OF ST SAVA SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH IN FLEMINGTON

On Thursday the 19th of September 2024, the seventieth anniversary since the completion of the first Serbian Orthodox Church in Australia – St Sava’s in Flemington, was solemnly celebrated at the Waterview complex at Sydney Olympic Park in Homebush Bay. This great feat was accomplished by the grace of God under the leadership of the late Fr Milenko Stefanovic of blessed memory. The church was built in record time from 1953 – 1954. Contributions to its further beautification were made during the tenure of Fr Milenko’s successor, the late Very Reverend Protopresbyter-stavrofor Vladislav Djordjevic of blessed memory. This legacy continues under the leadership of the current priest, the Very Reverend Protopresbyter Sasa Colic, and the faithful people of St Sava’s.
