HIERARCHICAL LITURGY AND KSS SLAVA CELEBRATION IN BRUNSWICK

On Sunday, September 22, when our Holy Church prayerfully celebrates St Joachim and St Anna and the Holy Martyr Severian, His Eminence Metropolitan Siluan served Divine Hierarchical Liturgy with the concelebration of clergy from the Melbourne-Adelaide Deanery at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Brunswick, Melbourne.

The church in Brunswick was filled with both faithful people and spiritual joy, as the Circle of Serbian Sisters “Mother Jevrosima” celebrated their Slava Day – The Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary. In his sermon, Metropolitan Siluan spoke about the importance of the Eucharistic assembly, of gathering in our Holy churches, as well as the role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the economy of our salvation.

The Metropolitan also touched on the importance of the role and ministry that the Circle of Serbian Sisters have in the life of our Metropolitanate and Serbian Orthodox Church.

At the end of the liturgy, Hierarchical gramatons were awarded for selfless effort, work and love for the Church to the Circle of Serbian Sisters “Mother Jevrosima” at Holy Trinity, as well as to Mrs Svetlana Jeremic, the longstanding treasurer of our church and the Monastery of St. Sava in Elaine.

The celebration continued in the parish hall, where a festive luncheon was served accompanied by a cultural program, where Metropolitan Siluan once again addressed the gathered faithful.
