Your Excellency,
It is with profound sadness that we write to convey to you our condolences and those of the reverend clergy and all the faithful of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Australia and New Zealand on the falling asleep of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth II has been for seventy years a devout Christian and faithful servant. We mark the deep familial bond between Queen Elizabeth II and the Serbian people that was indicated by her becoming godparent to Crown Prince Alexander in London in 1945.
We commend all Australians, many of whom have known no other monarch, to the love and mercy of Christ in this period of mourning.
We pray for the Royal family and all loyal subjects of Her Late Majesty in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth and ask that our sincerest condolences be conveyed to His Majesty King Charles III.
May God grant rest to her soul. May her memory be eternal!
