A mosaic has been created under the guidance and blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Siluan and placed in its designated location above the entrance doors of the St. Sava church at St. Sava New Kalenic Monastery in Wallaroo.
The mosaic was crafted by the renowned artist Mr. Risto Vujinovic in his art workshop in Trebinje.
The composition is dominated by the image of Saint Sava, the Patron of the New Kalenic Holy Monastery.
The First Archbishop, educator, and spiritual forefather of the Serbian people is depicted in the mosaic blessing the faithful with his right hand and pointing to the spiritual foundation of his people: the Gospel of Christ, which he holds in his left hand—offering a message and invitation to the Serbian people for love, unity, and harmony.
The mosaic is a donation from a devout Orthodox Christian and follower of Saint Sava from Melbourne, Brother Sava Kovacevic, who, together with his family, has gifted the mosaic to the Serbian people and all the faithful who gather in brotherly fellowship at this Holy Site, for the health of his family and the spiritual well-being of the faithful.
The mosaic was transported from Serbia through the love and efforts of the Stefanovic family business – ‘Ras Trade’, to whom we also extend our sincere gratitude.
The mosaic was installed through the efforts and love of our faithful from Brisbane: Brother Zeljko Cvitanovic and Sister Katarina Dramicanin, and the scaffolding for this project was set up by the hardworking Brother Jovan Palavestra and Joe Afonso, to whom we are likewise deeply grateful.
To the Kovacevic family, once again, we express our profound gratitude for their love towards their Serbian Orthodox Church and the faithful of our Diocese, demonstrated through this God-pleasing gift to the St. Sava New Kalenic Monastery.
At the same time, to every individual who, through even the smallest effort, act of love, or prayer contributed to the creation and installation of the mosaic, now a new adornment and symbol of our dedication to the path of Saint Sava, we send our deepest thanks and prayerful blessings.
May we all live in unity – Saint Sava, help us!
Amen! God grant it!
