On Sunday, December 15, 2024, the parish of St. Archdeacon Stephen in Rooty Hill had the honour of welcoming His Eminence Metropolitan Siluan. This visit was a great spiritual event for all the faithful of our parish and for all those who attended the Divine Liturgy that day.
Metropolitan Siluan served the Divine Hierachical Liturgy with the concelebration of the parish priest, Fr Alexander Ivanović, and Protodeacon Petar Mrakić. In his sermon, Metropolitan Siluan reminded the faithful of the importance of unity in faith and the significance of living in Christ.
After the Liturgy, the faithful gathered in the church hall, where an agape meal in the form of a Sunday luncheon was served. This gathering was an excellent opportunity for everyone to meet, exchange impressions, and, as a true Orthodox community, share in the joy of the feast.
The visit of Metropolitan Siluan and his support for our parish was realised in the spirit of love and peace that connects us all. His archpastoral care and constant presence in the life of our individual church communities remind us of the importance of spiritual fellowship and the significance of our unity in the Church.
During his visit, Metropolitan Siluan expressed his satisfaction with the life and work being done in this parish, praising all the activity and efforts invested in the development of church life in the Church Community in Rooty Hill.
We thank His Eminence Metropolitan Siluan for this archpastoral visit, as well as all the faithful who came to gather in prayer and share this blessed Sunday with us. We pray to the Lord to bless our parish and all our activities so that we may continue to live in the light of His truth and love.
