On Tuesday, 08 November 2016, at the Saint George Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Cabramatta we celebrated the festival of Saint Demitrios of Thessaloniki. Bishop Siluan presided at the Holy Hierachichal Liturgy, concelebrating with the Cathedral clergy Very Rev. Fathers Djuro Djurdjevic and Nemanja Mrdjenovic and Rev Deacon Aleksandar Ivanovic, the Secretary of the Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand. Mrs Darija Galic MA as usual conducted the choir that had help from Very Reverend Fathers Nenad Djurasinovic and Dragoljub Pantelic, who were the first arrivals for the clergy seminar.

Bishop Siluan gave a sermon on the life and glory of martyrdom of St Demitrios, encouraging once again all Orthodox Serbs in Australia to a testimonial passion on the way of Saint Sava and true Christianity, to communion in the truth and unity.

At the end of the Liturgy the Bishop congratulated Fr Nenad on a great jubilee of the 40th anniversary of his ordination to priesthood. The clergy of the Cathedral gifted Fr Nenad with a new set of vestments and a pectoral cross, which he received from His Grace with Hierarchical blessings and a wish that for many more years he wears a cross on his heart and in his heart. Fr Nenad who was ordained on this day in 1976 in the St Demitrios Church in Okucani, Diocese of Slavonia, thanked everyone and asked the congregation for support in a fundraiser for a reconstruction of the church in which he was ordained.
